British Airways : London Heathrow – Mumbai (Bombay) First Class [En-Part 4]

Do get a glimpse of the previous part of this Trip Report!

As soon as I got to my seat and was comfortably relaxing, I was approached by a F/A – addressing to me by name – asking me which kind of drink I wanted.

When I said I’m fine with champagne, she quickly disappeared and got back with a brand-new glass of champagne.

Without any further request, she also offered me a glass of water which was served on the shelf.

During the (quite) long wait for the last passengers to board, I spent most of my time exploring seat and cabin, stimulating the interest of FAS who were highly amused by the number of pictures I took. Nonetheless, none of them made me feel uncomfortable with it and they never seemed astonished by my behaviour (I think I’m neither the first nor the last one).

British Airways New First Class hardware product is not – for sure – the best offered among airlines: some carriers offer First class suites, which – by general consensus – are considered better and more exclusive. Said that, what striked me so much about the First Class product on British Ariways is the attention to details, and some little touches making the product more appealing to the passenger.

In Example, the IFE monitor is really huge and the quality seems to be top-notch.

The personal light is basically a kinda of revamped “vintage” lamp, located on the side of your own seat:

Both seat and IFE controls have their own station on the side of the seat, with the last one disapperaing inside a mini-closet.

Regarding seat controls, it’s useful to say they’re pretty easy to understand, and together with the classical ones, you can find also a cursor to adjust the window shade.
