British Airways : London Heathrow – Mumbai (Bombay) First Class [En-Part 8]

Do get a glimpse of the previous part of this Trip Report!

Ater the service ended, in a very few minutes, all the FAs did their best to prepare the cabin for those interested in taking a nap or relaxing themselves.

Quickly, they took away all the stuff used for the meal service and – upon request – started to set up the single seats for the “sleeping” mode.

Once Again a big thumbs up fro them. While I was in the tolilet for some personal needs Fas set up everything, lowering the window shades, turning the seat into bed, arranging a proper mattress and a very classy and comfortable quilt and two pillows, the regular one used on the day-time and a proper one to sleep. On the side shelf I also found a sealed bottle of water for my own convenience and also a little spray bin containing some self-described essence to help you sleep. Finally, definitely a great way to try sleeping.

I must say that the blueish-colour of the window-shades is definitely a nice choice ‘cause I find it extremely relaxing and iif you want to keep watching a movie or some TV show, it fits perfectly with it.

I can’t describe what happened later, cause I fell asleep for a couple of hours and therefore I’ve no knowledge of what occurred. I woke up just few minutes before the refreshment service which was delivered in a quick and smart way.

It’s baiscally and reinforced tea-service offered on board, made up of some sandwiches, some pastries and the traditional scones, coming with the so-famous clotted cream (aka Devonshire Cream) and marfruit jam.

About the sandwiches, there’s not so much to say. definitely edible and quite tasty, with a decent selection fo different kind.

I can’t comment about pastries since I really don’t appreciate this kind of stuff, but nonetheless it was nice to see macarons served on a First Class flight.

On the other side – even though I should avoid – suffering high cholesterol – such a similar food, the best of the refreshment cam with the scones. Qualitatively excellent, they were incredibly good and the Devonshire cream simply superb. A perfect way to enjoy a british tea service!

Many people often complain about the British Airways crew on First class service, and I must agree that sometimes on BA it’s hit or miss. In this case I really appreciate the service and the attitude shown by the crew. Even though they were not outstanding, I must admit they were attentive and professional and they didn’t forget to provide an adequate service for a First class passenger.
